Welcome to our Homepage, our Association and our love of Helicopters

The South Carolina Helicopter Association (SCHA) was incorporated under the laws of South Carolina and was established June 3, 1974 to be a statewide non-profit organization to promote safety, encourage professionalism, provide assistance for new helicopter operations and to provide a common voice to achieve these goals.

Goals of SCHA

1. Establish more Helistops.
2. Promote fair and just insurance rates for owners and operators
3. Encourage Helicopter safety.
4. Foster Public relations programs.
5. Establish liaison with the FAA and Controlling Agencies.
6. Provide fast, efficient response to maintenance problems.
7. Provide speakers for organizations.
8. Sponsor activities that promote the Helicopter Industry.
9. Provide guidance and all possible HELP and assistance to public agencies in the event of Natural Disasters.
10. Provide help to members building or maintaining Experimental Rotary aircraft.

Membership

Our membership is comprised of individuals interested in Helicopters and their unique capabilities. We have a variety of members who include corporate and military pilots, crew members, mechanics, retired pilots, corporate sponsors and those just interested in Helicopters.

Our members utilize helicopters in the following operations:
